Update on condition of teens injured in bus crash

STEPHENSON TOWNSHIP -- Two people who were injured when a car crashed into a bus on Monday are listed as "stable and improving" as of Wednesday morning.

The two people were injured when 17-year-old Don Kakuk of Menominee crashed a Pontiac Sunfire into a school bus carrying 21 people, according to the Menominee County Sheriff's Office.

The two passengers in Kakuk's car were Brianna Hornick, 17, and Devon Kakuk, 13.  They were transported to a trauma center in Green Bay and are currently in the intensive care unit, but their condition was listed as "stable and improving."

The crash occurred on US-41 near Wangerin Road in Stephenson Township.

The exact cause of the crash in under investigation by local authorities.
