Fortune Lake Bible Camp is already preparing for the summer
CRYSTAL FALLS -- It barely feels like spring, but Fortune Lake Bible Camp is already gearing up for their biggest season: the summer.
Sunday, the Crystal Falls Lutheran Camp held their annual meeting. Each year representatives from U.P. Lutheran churches gather at the camp to elect board members, plan for future events and discuss the budget for the upcoming year.
This year the camp says their budget looks promising.
"When you think about how the economy is, everyone is struggling all across the board, but we were able to hire our staff, we're able to continue to expand our staff, so in a whole lot of ways, our budget is looking very good and we're feeling real positive about it," says program director Pastor Peter Warmanen.
In fact the camp just reported Sunday that since last year, their attendance has gone up 78 percent, and they're looking forward to a packed, fun-filled summer.
