MARQUETTE -- After having over 100 people turn out on Friday night, Redfella Records is calling their first Open Mic Night in Marquette a success.

Although the event welcomed all performance acts, it was primarily musicians who stepped up to the mic.

The event was started by the record producer to help promote and expose local talent, and organizers say they were happy to see such a wide range of performances.

"Tonight's going really great, it sounds like everyone's having a good time," said Ryan Gleason of Redfella Records.  "We've got a lot of positive feedback so far.  We've got a lot of different kind of acts, a wide variety of acts from solo acoustic acts, and we've had some rock and roll bands."

Redfella is planning to have another Open Mic Night this Friday, at 8 p.m. to midnight, in the lower level of the Masonic Building in Marquette.  All you have to do is show up and sign up when you get there.
