MARQUETTE -- The Marquette Senior High School Choral Department is hosting a sing-a-long performance featuring songs from The Sound of Music on Thursday night at the Kaufmann Auditorium.

It's a fund-raiser to support more than 60 students and chaperones traveling to southern Germany in April.

They choose to spotlight the musical because of its geographical setting and its widespread popularity.

"A lot of people are really going to be involved because it's a show that has been a part of the generations since it first came out," said MSHS Choral Director Jan Brodersen.  "I think almost everybody knows at least one song from the Sound of Music."

The concert will be held Thursday night at 7 p.m. in the Kaufman Auditorium.  A five dollar donation is recommended.
