MARQUETTE -- It's not quite warm enough for it yet, but in just two months, the downtown Marquette Farmer's Market will be open for business at the Marquette Commons, and the Downtown Development Authority is currently accepting vendor applications.

The regular season begins with a grand opening on May 21 and runs through October 29.

A $60 application fee permits farmers, growers, and producers to sell their goods every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., but the market is not just for growers, it's also for local artisans and crafters.

"We try to really provide a wide variety of products at the market to have it be more well rounded, and you know, have a little something for everybody," said Becky Salmon of the Downtown Development Authority.

The application deadline for full season vendors is April 15.

Those who can't commit to the entire season can apply for a daily vendor spot for $10 by June 13.
