MARQUETTE -- With spring's arrival comes lots of melting, slushy snow, but Marquette Mountain made the most of it with their annual slush cup.

Skiers decked themselves out in all sorts of attire from costumes to bathing suits and braved part of the ski hill that slid right into a slushy, watery pit.

The goal was to see how far participants could make it across the pit without sinking.  As crazy as it may sound, organizers say they get many challengers each year.

"It's a range...we got little kids, the older people, you know, people with costumes; we had a girl go through last year do a back flip.  They don't even try to go through it, they're just trying to show off," said hill supervisor, Chris Zorza.

Those who made it the farthest across the slush pit won nothing but bragging rights.
