MARQUETTE COUNTY -- Support the troops with a red shirt on Friday.

It's the goal of a national campaign to support families of troops, and it's revving up again in Marquette County.

More than 2,000 red "Support our Troops" shirts have already been sold in Marquette County since last fall.

The Negaunee Township, Ishpeming Township and Skandia/West Branch Township fire departments are selling the shirts.

Money raised from the program goes to the Ishpeming Armory, which supports troops throughout the U.P.

There are about 400 t-shirts remaining at the fire departments.

"They've already helped a handful of the families in the area, and hopefully now that we get the shirts back up and on sale again here and spur the sales again, we can turn more money back to them," said Negaunee Township Fire Chief, Jeff Kontio.

The shirts are $10 for all sizes up to XL,  and $12 for XXL and XXXL.

Five dollars from every shirt goes to the armory.
