The Palmer Fire Department responded to a house fire in Richmond Township Saturday evening

RICHMOND TWP. -- Firefighters are still on the scene of a house fire that started earlier Saturday evening.

The call came in around 6:15 p.m. for a structure fire at 108 Nicholas Avenue in Palmer.

Several agencies responded to the scene, including firefighters from Richmond and Negaunee Townships, the Marquette County Sheriff's Department, the Salvation Army, and the Pigs n' Heat fund.

Preliminary reports indicate that the structure is a total loss.

No word on any injuries or whether there was anyone inside at the time.

So no word yet on the cause of the fire.
