Jail time for assault plea

IRON MOUNTAIN -- An Iron Mountain man who plead no contest to felonious assault and carrying a concealed weapon has been sentenced.

Craig Keith Russett fired a gun outside of a Kingsford bar February 18, 2010 during an argument.  No one was hurt.

In Dickinson County Circuit Court Monday, he was sentenced to 12 months in the county jail.  However, due to medical reasons, he will be placed on a tether to serve his sentence.

Russett was also ordered to forfeit his weapon.
