ONTONAGON -- It is just days away from being official, Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation's sale of the Ontonagon mill to American Iron and Metal.

American Iron and Metal, or AIM, has already set up shop in the community.

The company is looking to sell parts of the mill, including the power plant and paper machines still on site.  They'll then demolish the mill and salvage what they can.

Part of the sales agreement includes no papermaking operations at the Ontonagon site for a period of years.
