MARQUETTE COUNTY -- This time of year people are thinking about their taxes, and the United Way of Marquette County wants to remind them of an easy way they can give.

Marquette County residents can now include Form 4642 on their 2010 income tax and make a donation to the United Way.  Money donated to the United Way stays in the area, as it is distributed by zip code.

United Way organizers say this is an easy way to help those struggling in our local community.

"Marquette County residents, who are generally very generous, will feel especially generous when they are getting an income tax refund and help others because people are especially hurting in this economy, and in our area there's so much need, and we really hope people step forward and help," said Campaign Coordinator Sue Minckler.

Last year the United Way received over $1,300 from tax donations, which went to help several Marquette County families with things such as food, clothing, and paying utilities.
