IRON COUNTY -- An Iron River man charged with fourth degree criminal sexual conduct will be going to jail.
On Tuesday, 24-year-old William Donald Adams was sentenced to 11 months in the Iron County jail along with five years probation. He'll also have to register as a sex offender.
Adams had sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl in the summer of 2009. He was apologetic while addressing the court and says he has been going through mental health treatment, but Judge Joseph Schwedler says that's no excuse for what occurred.
"Twenty-two-year-old men do not mess around with 14-year-old girls," said Schwedler. "It's not allowed. It's not allowed in this society, it's not allowed in this community, and people do get punished for it."
Adams also cannot have any contact with a person under the age of 17 during his five years of probation.
