Lots by the recreation area will be closed
MARQUETTE -- With less than 24 hours until President Obama's scheduled arrival, the campus of Northern is getting ready.
Anyone traveling to the university should be aware that there will be changes in the open parking lots. Lots 53, 54, 55, and 56 on the north side of the Superior Dome are the only areas designated for general parking. Drivers are encouraged to use the Wright Street entrance to access these lots as other areas of campus will be closed.
"Avoid the recreation area, the Dome, the Berry, and the PEIF. Avoid that area; you won't be allowed in any of the parking lots, except the general parking. Avoid those areas by foot and by car," explains Sgt. Ken Love of NMU Public Safety.
All of the parking lots surrounding the recreation complex will close tonight at midnight. The recreation buildings will also be closed and be patrolled by NMU Public Safety.
