Alleged abuse continued for a year and a half
HOUGHTON -- A Painesdale man accused of sexually molesting a young relative was in Houghton County District Court for a preliminary hearing Friday.
Forty-one-year-old Jerry Wisniewski is charged with criminal sexual conduct in the first and second degrees.
Wisniewski was visibly upset as he listened to testimony from his teenage accuser. The girl told the court the abuse started a year and a half ago when Wisniewski claimed he wanted to show her how not to get pregnant.
Their encounters were initiated through text messages and occurred multiple times a week.
Wisniewski will be arraigned in circuit court on February 14. If convicted, he's facing life in prison.
