ESCANABA -- The Get Up and Go program in Escanaba has a lot of people doing the Zumba, which is one of the YMCA's most popular fitness classes for people in the program.
Seven YMCA instructors and other Get Up and Go members were in for a treat the other day.
Shelly Farvour, a Zumba instructor from the Oshkosh YMCA in Wisconsin, made a special trip to Escanaba to teach a master class.
Zumba is the fastest-growing dance fitness craze in the nation because it feels more like a party and less like a workout.
"This is a really great class," said Debi Tibbles of YMCA Health and Wellness. "I've worked in the industry for 20 years, and I really love this type of a class. It's so much fun, and it really doesn't matter how old you are or what fitness level you're at."
The YMCA will host another Zumba party in February.
Three Zumba instructors from the Escanaba YMCA will teach and host the party to raise funds for the Strong Kids Campaign.
