Manistique break-in suspects plead guilty

MANISTIQUE -- Two Manistique men charged with multiple burglaries in Schoolcraft County have entered guilty pleas.
    
According to the Schoolcraft County Prosecutor's office, the first man, Brian Lee Smith, plead guilty to 12 counts of breaking and entering, 2 counts of safe breaking, and one count of uttering and publishing of a forged check.
    
He was arrested in November of last year for breaking into several Manistique businesses as well as one private residence.
    
Smith will be sentenced on February 3.

A second Manistique man plead guilty to breaking and entering charges last week.  Russell Lee St. John plead guilty to three counts of breaking and entering and one charge of possession of hydrocodone.
    
He was arrested in December for various break-ins of Manistique businesses and homes.
    
His sentencing is also set for February 3.
