Two car crash south of L'Anse, one person dies, two MTU students sent to hospital

BARAGA COUNTY -- Update:  Monday, Jan.10, 8:48 a.m.

More information has been released in a fatal two-car crash in Baraga County Sunday afternoon.
    
The Michigan State Police report that it happened at 3:45 p.m., five miles south of L'Anse on US-41.
    
A 53-year-old woman from Ontonagon crossed the center line, hitting an oncoming vehicle.  She was ejected from her vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
    
The driver of the other car, an 18-year-old man from Johannesburg, was taken to Baraga County Memorial Hospital for treatment.  His passenger, a 20-year-old Gaylord man, was taken to Marquette General Hospital.
    
The name of the Ontonagon woman and names and conditions of those in the hospital have not been released.  The crash remains under investigation.

A bad two vehicle crash in Baraga County.  One person has been killed, two others seriously injured.  It happened around 3:45 Sunday afternoon, five miles south of L'Anse on US-41.

According to a Michigan State Police official, a 53-year-old woman from Ontonagon was in one vehicle.  She was killed.

Two men, believed to be Michigan Tech students, were in the other vehicle.  They suffered serious injuries and are believed to be hospitalized at Marquette General.

Police have not said how the crash happened.

No names or conditions have been released by police.  The did say, however, the roads were slippery at the time of the crash.
