WASHINGTON D.C. -- Washington, D.C. hosted the swearing in of a new Republican majority in the House of Representatives facing President Obama.
Among the new congressmen, Dr. Dan Benishek of Crystal Falls, who won a tight Republican Primary and then a landslide in the general election in November.
Benishek and the other congress men and women were sworn in together Wednesday afternoon with the new speaker, John Boehner.
Five of Michigan's fifteen congressmen are new, and nine of the fifteen are Republicans.
The GOP says their priorities are repealing the health care bill and cutting back the budget.
