GLADSTONE -- There were dozens of ice shanties on the ice in Big Bay de Noc in Gladstone Tuesday morning
Some people drove onto the ice with their snowmobiles and other took their ATVs.
The most popular fish to catch are walleye and perch.
Ice fishing season is also keeping Chris Wahl, owner of Bay View Bait and Tackle, very busy. When he's not selling ice saws and minnows at work, he's fishing.
"It's something to do in the winter," said Wahl. "Once everyone's done with hunting season, it's about the best game in town, and we have really good fishing out here. You have a chance of catching a really big walleye."
Fishermen will be able to catch fish until the lake begins to melt in March.
