MARQUETTE COUNTY -- The last couple of days, in case you hadn't heard, has been a nightmare for holiday travelers.
Heavy snow storms out East forced airlines to cancel 2,000 flights nationwide Monday.
Officials at Sawyer International Airport say all of those cancellations are trickling down and impacting U.P. residents.
Delta has cancelled over 800 flights through Atlanta, which has put pressure on hubs such as Minneapolis and Detroit, both of which have service to Marquette.
Those looking to be re-accommodated on American Airlines are also out of luck. The airline has been booked solid through January 2.
"It's highly unusual to have all of the Eastern seaboard airports, such as the Washington's, the New York's, the Boston airports as severely impacted as they are," said Keith Kaspari of Sawyer International Airport. "It'll just take time to dig out."
At Sawyer on Monday, things have seemed pretty calm. All of their flights have taken off on time, and the airport is fully operating.
