MANISTIQUE -- The case against a Manistique man on multiple burglary charges is a step closer to going to trial.

Russell Lee St. John, 28, was arrested on seven felony counts of breaking and entering, as well as safe breaking and drug possession.

He waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday in Schoolcraft District Court.

He was arraigned the same day in circuit court, where he plead not guilty.

St. John's pretrial hearing has been scheduled for January 6 of next year.
