MARQUETTE -- Jury selection started Monday in the trial of a Marquette man accused of violently assaulting a woman in her Marquette home last March.

Suranit Imsumran, 43, is charged with assault with intent to commit murder, sexual assault, and home invasion.

He allegedly entered the woman's home and confronted her with a knife.  According to authorities, she was able to grab the knife and stab him before she got away.

The suspect and the alleged victim apparently knew each other before the assault.

Imsumran is being held in jail on a two million dollar bond.
