MENOMINEE -- Services for 15-year-old Sam Hengel were held in a school auditorium in Menominee Sunday morning, just across the border from Marinette High School, where Hengel held 26 classmates and his teacher hostage for six hours.

Attendees remembered Hengel as well-liked and friendly.  The reasons for his actions Monday are still a mystery.

Hengel shot himself Monday evening as a SWAT team ended his standoff with police.

None of the hostages were injured.
