It's said that all good things must come to an end, and the end has come for the Marquette Farmer's Market...for now
MARQUETTE -- With the approach of winter, the weekly outdoor market will be on hiatus until the spring, but a limited indoor market will be continuing through the end of the year.
For vendors, it was a summer to remember. Turnout was strong all summer, and the market had more vendors than ever before.
Even through early day showers, a few vendors still came down for the last day. But the Marquette Commons, though centrally located, is a small venue, something organizers have taken note of.
"We do want to accommodate more people and let more people have the chance to sell," says market administrator Sareh Monte. "We also have to think about traffic flow for customers and things like that, so we're always thinking at the end of every season, how can we make the next one better?"
While a potential move is something that is on their minds, nothing has been set into motion and they would still be happy to stay at the Commons.
