DICKINSON COUNTY -- A Kingsford man that pled guilty to delivering heroin will be going to prison.

Scott Carney, 43, was sentenced to two years in prison Friday in Dickinson County Circuit Court.

Carney pled guilty to delivery of heroin, possession with intent to distribute heroin, and maintaining a drug house earlier this month.  He was also sentenced as a third time habitual offender.

Judge Mary Barglind said that Carney deserves to go to prison for repeatedly selling drugs.

"You have contributed to the delinquency of this community once again," said Barglind.  "You have been sentenced before, and you have not learned.  I do not have any sympathy for what you've gone through physically, emotionally, or otherwise."

Carney's co-defendant, 35-year-old Rodger Shealy of Coleman, Wisconsin has his preliminary examination scheduled for next week in district court.
