Latest news, weather, high school sports for Michigan’s Upper Peninsula

Now the latest unemployment figures for the Upper Peninsula, and slowly, but surely, they're improving.

The jobless rate in September was 11.1 percent, and that's down two tenths of a percent from August.

By comparison, the state of Michigan was at 12.3 percent.  The U.P. had the highest and lowest jobless counties in the state.

Mackinac County - 5.8%
Baraga County - 21.3%
