MENOMINEE -- If you have kids in the southern U.P. and want to take them trick or treating where you're guaranteed they're getting safe candy this Halloween, the Menominee Downtown Business Association has the answer for you.
Organizers of their annual trick or treat event say they usually see about 400 kids from both Menominee and Marinette, Wisconsin.
Families are able to see the downtown area while kids have a chance to show off their costumes.
"Hopefully we can attract more people to our beautiful downtown to see our historic buildings, and we're all community members, and if we can give back to the community and make it a fun event for the children and the entire family...is what it's all about," said Joe Peacock of the Business Association.
The trick or treat will be this Thursday afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. central time.
More than 70 businesses on 1st and 2nd Street and 10th Avenue will be participating.
