West Ishpeming School coming down

ISHPEMING TOWNSHIP -- Demolition of the West Ishpeming School is set to happen later on this week.
    
Monday, builders from U.P. Abatement surrounded the school with fencing to guard the site from the public.
    
The building is in a residential neighborhood, and the building's demolition has caused much controversy since it contains asbestos.
    
Contractors plan to spray water on the building to contain the asbestos on Wednesday, then knock it down Thursday.
