The Upper Michigan Brain Tumor Center is trying for the Pepsi Refresh Challenge grant
MARQUETTE -- Another U.P. organization is also competing in the Pepsi Refresh Grant Challenge.
The Brain Tumor Center at Marquette General Hospital is currently in 16th place. If they win, they'll be awarded $250,000 which will be used towards research projects aimed at better understanding quality of life issues.
And the center says they hope people will step up and vote.
"We are completely dependent upon the funds we raise," says NMU assistant biology professor, John Lawrence. "We have a run/walk and bike race every spring where we raise funds for research and advocacy and education for brain tumor patients."
They'll win the grant if they come in first or second place.
Voting runs until October 31st.
