The Autumn Comforts Quilt Show kicked off Saturday afternoon in Marquette

MARQUETTE -- More than 300 quilts were featured at this year's event from quilters all over the U.P.  There were also demonstrations and vendors selling quilting materials at the show.

The show is only held every two years and is put on by the Marquette County Quilter's Association.

They say it's a great way to get their members more involved.

"We're crazy for quilting, and we encourage our guild members to, and challenge them to, improve their skills, and the quality of the quilts in this show is outstanding, and so it's a place to showcase," says chairperson Judy Parlatto.  "It's an authentic venue to celebrate area quilts."

The show continues Sunday at Northern Michigan University from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
