Prosecution gets small victory in upcoming Kemppainen retrial

HANCOCK -- A victory for the prosecution in the upcoming retrial of accused arsonist Ronald Kemppainen.

The judge in Houghton has ruled that evidence tying Kemppainen to previous fires will be allowed in the new trial which is scheduled to start November 1.  A mistrial was declared in the first trial.

Kemppainen is accused of burning down a Hancock apartment building, in which four people died.
