MARQUETTE -- A former Houghton man has been convicted of possessing child pornography.
Forty-year-old Eric Dexter Welch of Hartford, Wisconsin was found guilty after a two day jury trial in federal court in Marquette.
The jury found that Welch possessed child pornography on a laptop computer in 2007 while he was living in Houghton.
Welch is a registered sex offender having been previously convicted of having sex with a 13-year-old girl.
He faces 10 to 20 years in prison when he's sentenced December 14.
