MARQUETTE -- Students looking for a job were in luck Wednesday.
The NMU Career Fair opened its doors in the University Center Wednesday afternoon. Employers from the Army Reserve to law enforcement, banks and retail stores showed up to look for prospective workers.
After several years of a tight economy, NMU Career Services was pleased to see employer attendance go up.
"To me it says that there are positions available, if not at least the corporations they're looking; there's some light at the end of the tunnel that there will be some jobs available if they're not currently, otherwise they wouldn't be here," said Jim Gadzinski of NMU Career Services.
This year about 65 local employers set up booths, about five more than at last year's event.
