Rowers of all ages competed
NEGAUNEE -- The 5th annual regatta of the Upper Peninsula Community Rowing Club was held on Negaunee's Teal Lake Sunday morning
In addition to the Marquette-based, U.P. Rowing Club, Michigan Tech and N.M.U. also participated.
Rowers aged 14 to 70 competed for the coveted heavy metal trophy, but tough competition didn't get in the way of good spirits...
"Rowing is just a great sport," says Ann Piereson, the president of the U.P. Rowing. "It's the ultimate team sport and there's nothing like having eight people pulling those ores together, working as hard as they can for a common goal to move that boat as fast as you can towards the finish line , there's no better place to do it than Teal Lake."
Michigan Tech won this year's regatta with a score of 20.
