Kennecott trespasser sentence delayed
ISHPEMING -- One of the protestors who plead no contest to trespassing charges at Kennecott's Eagle Mine site was given a six month delay of sentence Tuesday.
Chris Chosa was one of the protestors arrested in May for refusing to leave the property leased by Kennecott.
With the delay of sentence, Chosa agreed to pay $388 in fines by January 7 and is responsible for six hours of community service.
Under the court's terms, if Chosa lives up to the plea deal, he'll avoid up to 30 days in jail and a fine of up to $250 plus court costs.
