DICKINSON COUNTY -- One of the men charged in a string of breaking and entering and larceny crimes in Dickinson County was sentenced Tuesday in circuit court.

Kyle Cootware, 21, of Norway was sentenced to 18 months probation including four months in jail.  Cootware stole power cords in order to sell the copper wire from several local businesses and broke into camps in Norway Township.

Prosecutor Stephanie Brule questioned his motive.

"Why would he be so weak in character as to go along with others that are committing these offenses?" asked Brule.  "Somewhere along the way he should have stopped and said I need to get out of this situation no matter what."

Cootware has no prior criminal record and could get the felonies taken off his record if he successfully completes his probation.
