WETMORE -- The local Lions fan who walked all the way to Ford Field to bring his team good luck and "SISU" has returned from his journey.

Joe E Paquette walked from his home in Wetmore to Detroit in only 18 days.  He made the 425 mile trip, and he has the blisters to prove it.

Paquette walked facing traffic for safety, and even though he says that he was tired, the trip was well worth it in the end.

"The best part of the trip was getting there obviously, but I saved the last mile," said Paquette.  "I could have gotten in Tuesday night, but I saved the last mile for fans, family, and friends who wanted to walk it with me, and I did have quite a few of them.  It was an unbelievable reception."

Paquette says the team treated him like royalty.  They sent him home with autographed gear and some new shoes.

By the way, he drove back to the U.P.
