Manistique celebrates 150th birthday
MANISTIQUE -- One hundred fifty years is quite a milestone, and recently, the city of Manistique celebrated its 150th birthday.
Senator Carl Levin congratulated the citizens for the accomplishment Wednesday as he travelled through the city.
He also took pictures with the mayor and other city officials.
He wished them the best of luck in the future.
"We're here to kind of belatedly celebrate the 150th birthday of Manistique and talk about not just the past and how they've gone with change and dealt with change," said Senator Levin. "But to celebrate the 150th and talk about the future as well."
Levin also signed a plaque for the city, which honors them for their sesquicentennial.
