Enjoying music on Presque Isle

MARQUETTE -- There was music in the air at Presque Isle Park Friday night.

The annual Music in the Park series was in full swing with groups Lovechild and Redline.

The concert takes place in the bandshell at Presque Isle Park and provides a stage for local music acts and is entirely a volunteer service.

The series takes place from mid-June to about mid-August and is in its third year.

"Well, it's fun to live in Marquette and it's kind of a community service thing where we are able to enjoy this beautiful park, and the folks that built the bandshell back in the '30s built it for the city for the community, and that's what we're doing here," said Series Director, Mike Beauchamp.

The final concert of the series is Friday, August 20.
