Bicyclist disobeyed stop sign

ISHPEMING -- An Ishpeming girl continues to recover after she rode her bike into a pickup.
    
According to the Ishpeming Police Department, the crash happened Wednesday night at the intersection of Empire and Fifth Streets.
    
A truck driven by 48-year-old Linda Jarvi was on Empire and as she entered the intersection, the 12-year-old girl did not stop at the posted stop sign as she was going down Fifth Street.  The girl ran into the truck.
    
She was taken to Bell Hospital where she was treated and released.
    
Ishpeming police say that the girl was at fault for failing to yield the right of way.  Citations have not been issued.
