Walk and win

MARQUETTE -- There's only one more chance to enter to win a free trip to walk with the Governor while she's in the area of Mackinac Island, and all you need to do is go for a walk.

It's a U.P.-wide drawing.  Every time someone participates in a "Walk Michigan" event this summer, they are entered in the raffle.

Thursday was the second "Walk Michigan" in Marquette.  Participants walked laps at Lower Harbor in Marquette Thursday morning; the turnout was nearly double the first walk in June.

"Word has gotten out that it's a fun, easy walk and the location...everyone loves Lower Harbor Park," said Marquette Senior Center Coordinator, Jane Palmer.

The last walk in Marquette will take place August 19, 9 a.m., at Presque Isle.
