There were no injuries
MARQUETTE -- The Fourth of July weekend got off to a wet start for a group of boaters on Lake Superior last Friday night. Their sailboat capsized near the lower harbor breakwater around 6 p.m. Friday. A nearby boater witnessed the accident and called the Coast Guard.
Five people were aboard the sailboat. They were all brought to shore safely and no one was reported injured.
The boat had to be towed to shore.
Pete Frazier of the Lake Superior Yacht Yard used a crane to hoist the boat up, drain the water from it, and get it right side up.
The Coast Guard says a combination of wind and waves caused the sailboat to capsize.
