A brain child of a true native
MARQUETTE -- For the last ten years, local photographer Tom Buchkoe has been thinking about doing something a bit different. Now that idea has become a reality.
In April, he released Yooper Postcards. The unique cards poke fun at life in the U.P.
Some of those are the Yooper seven-course meal--a pasty and a six pack and aliens find the lost mothership.
There are currently 16 postcards on the shelves. Buchkoe say he has over a dozen ideas in the works for next year.
"Being a third generation Yooper and living with Yooper humor most of my life, I said I feel I have license to make fun of Yoopers, and if I can't do it, who can?" said Buchkoe.
The postcards are available in 80 stores throughout the U.P., and they only cost 35 cents a piece.
