L'ANSE -- A L'Anse woman will be spending several years in prison for an assault that happened last year.

Roseann Marie Brennan, 21, plead guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon.

She hit the victim, a member of the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community, in the head with a tire iron during a fight.

Brennan was sentenced to 48 months in federal prison, plus 2 years of supervised release afterward.  She was also ordered to have no further contact with the victim.
