HOUGHTON -- A minor gas leak caused part of US-41, just south of Houghton, to be shut down Wednesday morning.

Traffic was detoured as crews from Action Traffic worked with Semco Energy to stop the leak.

The workers were digging near the Denton Road sign around 9:15 a.m. when they inadvertently hit a gas line.

The leak was stopped and the road reopened by 10 a.m.

The crews are working for MDOT to replace all of the road signs along US-41 between M-28 and Copper Harbor.
