DICKINSON COUNTY -- For close to 20 years, residents and community groups have been working to create a bike path in Dickinson County.  Now it appears a portion of their goal will become a reality.

Construction on the Lake Antoine Bike Path is expected to begin this summer.  The path will go around part of Lake Antoine and continue to Indiana Mine Road.

The goal for organizers like Bob Werner is for the path to open more doors to connect with other areas.

"This is just like a drop in a bucket compared to what we hope eventually to do," says Werner.  "Mainly we're going to concentrate on connecting Iron Mountain, Kingsford, and Norway."

Werner says he is hopeful the path could eventually expand further and connect with bike trails in Marquette.
