BARAGA COUNTY -- More than $5 million in federal money is coming to Baraga so the village can upgrade the water system.

This includes a loan of more than $2.5 million through stimulus money and the remainder in the form of a grant.

The money will be used to install a new water intake system with a buried pipeline, replace 13,000 feet of the supply main, and replace pumps and controls at the water plant.

The work will create 83 jobs in the county.
