Future Pastor gives sermon
MARQUETTE -- An NMU student preparing for the ministry got a chance to practice at a church service Sunday morning.
Senior Zachariah Shipman gave his own sermon at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Marquette. He chose to base his preachings on the gospel reading for the day and says this was not his first time in front of a congregation.
"Ever since middle school, it's been in the back of my head--you know maybe you should be a pastor, maybe that's what God's calling you to do," said Shipman.
Shipman will be continuing on to theological seminary in Dubuque, Iowa this summer, where he will spend four years learning about becoming a pastor.
