Fire crews from the DNRE are monitoring a contained wildfire from the weekend
CRYSTAL FALLS -- The woods of Upper Michigan are still extremely dry, and that's pushing the fire danger higher.
Fire crews from the DNRE are monitoring a contained wildfire from the weekend. The fire was in the Carney Dam area of Iron County.
One-hundred-twenty-nine acres of woods and farmland burned before it was contained Saturday night.
Officials say people probably got complacent, seeing we had the snowfall. They say conditions are right back where they were before the snowfall.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. But, they feel careless burning on a nearby farm is one possibility.
