MUNISING -- One stop along the UP 200 trail is encouraging spectators to come and play with them this weekend.

Sunshine beat down on the annual Winterfest in Munising Saturday.

There were several activities, including learning to snowshoe, guided snowshoe hikes along Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, and a chili walk at restaurants around town to vote on the best chili.

One worker from the Navigator Restuarant said, "We had a very nice warm day today.  The sun out.  People were in enjoying themselves.  They were strolling through town."

Mushers in the Midnight Run were also recognized Saturday afternoon in Munising at an awards banquet.

Joann Fortier from Gaylord won the Midnight Run this year.
